Your love with fashionable shoes may harm your feet

It is no secret that most women are lovers of shoes, although they may not take it to an Imelda Marcos level. If you don't know who she is look her up and you will see why I used her as an example of extremism in footwear. The extreme love of shoes by some is hard to understand especially when you consider that many of the shoes they love are harmful to their feet to the point of being totally unhealthy.
It has been the point of view for many years in the medical community that high heeled shoes combined with narrow toes can cause problems with the feet. The fact of the matter is that these types of shoes worn on a regular and consistent basis can cause severe and permanent deformities of the feet, that don’t sound pretty. Additionally some of the latest research shoes that they can also cause problems such as arthritis in the knee and other joints.
In light of the fact that many women are going to keep on wearing shoes that are bad for their feet no matter what there are now some foot specialists that have formed an organization that researches the products on the market and then offers their suggestions or even approval of certain types of shoes.
Women in the United States visit an orthopedic doctor over four times as much as men do with a large number of these visits being for problems associated with wearing high heel shoes. This is one of the best illustrations to show how the love of fashion or beauty can lead to health problems when taken to extremes. Nearly nine out of ten operations done to correct foot problems are for women who wore high heeled and narrow toed shoes on a repetitive basis.
Surgeons are commonly seeing deformities that resemble those that women in China exhibited from having their feet bound. The x-rays of these women didn't show bone deformities but rather joint problems which is the same thing we are seeing in American women who are wearers of high heel and narrow toe shoes.
The majority of the foot problems usually start at the front of the foot with bunions and deformities of the toe appearing first and foremost. What happens is that over a long period of time pointed shoes make the toes stay in a small compacted area and the pressure on the toes in shoes with a three inch heel can be over five times what it would be in a flat shoe.

As a matter of fact there is no doubt for the love to be the most fashionable in case of women but I must suggest that can not be compromised to the health at any cost.
